——— ABOUT
Steve Chou Lee,
Registered Psychologist.
I work with adults and couples in Newtown and online — helping people make sense of difficult feelings, longstanding patterns, and relationships that have become hard to navigate.

——— ABOUT THE PRACTICE
Therapy that
takes its time.
Many people arrive in therapy unsure of what they need — only that something isn't quite right.
That's often a good place to start. My work focuses on understanding the emotional and relational patterns that shape how difficulties are experienced — particularly in close relationships, work, and life transitions.
I aim to create a space that's steady and collaborative, where things can be explored at a pace that feels manageable. The work isn't about pushing — it's about noticing, naming, and gradually shifting what's been keeping you stuck.
I have particular experience working with men — including those who haven't engaged in therapy before — and with people working through trauma, identity, and the impact of long-term relational patterns. I'm also particularly interested in personality patterns that sit below diagnostic thresholds but cause significant life disruption.

How the work happens.
WHAT I DRAW ON
An integrative framework
Schema Therapy. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)–informed approaches. Gottman-informed work for couples. Relational and trauma-informed frameworks.
These aren't applied as a rigid protocol — they're tools that get shaped to fit the person, not the other way around.

HOW SESSIONS GO
What to expect
Sessions are 50 minutes. Early on we'll spend time getting a sense of what's been happening and what you're hoping for. From there, the work is collaborative — we adjust as we go.
In-person sessions are at the Newtown rooms. Telehealth is also available across Australia.
